At the beginning HOYAMAR S. COOP rented a warehouse in Marchena, Lorca (Murcia) with the aid of 20 employees.
Currently HOYAMAR is located in the south-east of Spain in a small district called La Hoya in Lorca (Murcia) where packing is splits between two different warehouses specializing in broccoli and lettuce. These warehouses have a combined total area of 8,000m2 built on 40,000m2 of land incorporating (3,000m2 of cold stores, vacuum cooling with a total capacity for 18 standard pallets, 11 docks for loading / unloading).
To accommodate our expanding business, Hoyamar has a private seedbed totaling 60.000 m2, for supply to its growers thus allowing total traceability processes for our customers “door-to-door”
Hoyamar’s turnover is approximately 20.000.000 Euros a year. The company commercializes its products mainly around Europe, however 15% of our volume is sold into domestic market. Hoyamar has increased its sales 10 fold compared to 1993 and now employs approximately five hundred employees throughout the year.
The total area of land dedicated to growing our portfolio is around 1,300 hectares. Our main products grown are Broccoli, Iceberg Lettuce, Little Gem Lettuce, Romaine Lettuce, Savoy Cabbage, Pointed Cabbage, Leeks, Cauliflower, Galia Melon, Cantaloupe Melon and Watermelon.
The company’s growth is due to the effort, work and dedication from the partners & customers, without forgetting the employees within the company.
HOYAMAR S. COOP was created by the group of 5 farmers on 30th March 1993 with the intention to produce and commercialize their products, these were mainly Broccoli and Galia Melon.
